Programs

The work, and where it stands.

Each of these areas is authorised by our constitution. We have marked honestly which are running and which are still being set up, because an organisation that publishes analysis of other people's claims should be careful with its own.

Civic awareness sessions

Sessions with young people on voter rights, how local government actually works, and what a citizen can require of a public office.

Research and study circles

Small, regular reading and research groups on law, history, geopolitics and economics — the base that the published work comes out of.

Policy analysis and commentary

Written analysis of government decisions, rules and budgets, in plain language, aimed at people the decision affects rather than at specialists.

Community issue documentation

Recording problems raised through our complaints channel, establishing the facts, and following them with the responsible office.

Institutional collaboration

Joint programmes with organisations working toward the same objectives, so effort is added rather than duplicated.

Membership and volunteer engagement

Bringing in members and volunteers, and giving them real work rather than a certificate.

Propose something

If you are working on the same thing, tell us.

We would rather join an effort that already exists than start a parallel one. If your organisation is working on civic education, governance research or public accountability in Kathmandu, get in touch.
